Hex (2004-2005)
A UK drama about a young woman, Cassie (Christina Cole), who finds herself gaining witching powers. She is uncertain about
what's happening to her until Azazeal (Michael Fassbender), a fallen angel, kills her best friend, Thelma
(Jemima Rooper), as a
sacrifice.
With Thelma's ghost as her guardian angel, Cassie's life seems to go from bad to worse while Azazeal spins his web,
with Cassie as the center piece. Just when these spiritual best friends think things couldn't get worse, Ella arrives to convince
them otherwise.
I love this series. It's sharp, simple and clever, with impressive special effects, great writing, directing and editing, and wonderful
performances.
Thelma is the real hero in this tale. She gets all the best lines and she's a raving lesbian, with the hots for Cassie.
But it's the bond of friendship between these two young ladies that is a love story worth watching and celebrating.
